RACHEL’S GATHERING AND RESTORING OF VINTAGE DRESSES HAS BEEN A LABOR OF LOVE FOR MANY YEARS.
What started as a passion ten years ago, has turned into a one of a kind whimsical collection of more than 50 vintage prom dresses dating from the 40’s and 50’s. Rachel and her team of designers have meticulously restored and infused new life into vintage dresses by embellishing them with interesting details such as silk trims, brooches and vintage flowers.

Since April, the vintage dress collection, also known as “Rachel’s Traveling Girls,” has been on exhibit as an art installation in stores across the country. It is concluding in New York where 30 dresses are available for purchase at Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic. “New York is a mix of art and style,” Says Rachel, “While I have enjoyed displaying them as art in my home, New Yorkers have the first opportunity to purchase these one of kind vintage gowns.” Between the wide variety of unique colors, textures of fabrics and exquisite trims, the collection is truly worth seeing.
