Rachel Ashwell For Pottery Barn Kids

My world has long been known for romantic and timeless home furnishings, including slip covered furniture as well as bed linens. My signature spans classic tones of white, sun bleached florals, ditsy little blossoms & mindfully distressed furniture. I'm passionate about the details... floppy ruffles, teeny flanges, soft fabrics and my specific palette. Over the years, I have designed and sold collections of baby furniture and linens through my stores. When the opportunity to collaborate with Pottery Barn Kids came along, I was excited for the opportunity to design a collection to be shared by a whole new world.

My aesthetic lends itself perfectly to the nursery as it is gentle and calming for a new little life.  As the partnership unfolded, I was happy to see the Pottery Barn design team understood the qualities and details that were important to me so that this partnership would be a true reflection of my aesthetic.
I loved popping up to San Francisco to work with the Pottery Barn design team. I took with me my bag of little vintage beauties of laces, soft velvets, scraps of floral fabrics, along with shabby paint finishes and twinkly crystals. The team did an amazing job of incorporating the subtle but meaningful little details of the three lovely nurseries, and the collaboration of Rachel Ashwell for Pottery Barn came to life. I take great pride that the quality and timelessness of all my products are cherished today, but then can become future heirlooms.

Along with the linens, we created vintage inspired chandeliers, mirrors, wall art, nursery furniture and rugs. Every single item went through the test of my mantra, beauty comfort and function. As well as honoring my signature aesthetics and all with the high quality of construction and safety that Pottery Barn is known for.

We had a breathtakingly beautiful launch in mid May at my flagship store in Santa Monica. We were able to bring alive the magic of these collections... while at the same time, my daughter launched Lily Ashwell for PB Teen. There was a moment where our collections combined, my Squishy sofa with her decorative pillows and her inspirational art. More of hers to come...

The Rachel Ashwell Collection can be viewed on Pottery Barn Kids, The Lliy Ashwell Collection can be viewed on PB Teen, and both through their catalogues. I am super proud, and truthfuly while I designed for the nursery, there are a few of the rugs, lighting  and some furniture that will land up in my big people rooms in my home. They are that special.

Love this, Rachel! Can I ask… I see that you sell a crib through your own collection and now through Pottery Barn Kids. What’s the difference? And as your #1 fan, which am I to choose for my soon-to-arrive little one?

Lovely…such a sense of calm, simply lovely.
